The word ‘BRAND’ originally comes from the word ‘firebrand,’ meaning a burning piece of wood. Burning torches were conventionally used to burn symbols into items for identification purposes. Various different cultures have their own traditional symbols which hold the meaning of ‘NEW’ - using these ideas, a collection of marks were created and branded into this piece of ply using a modern chemical burning process.
